For much too long, professionally created and produced video content was financially out of reach for the average small business. Here at RightNow Communications and LapseNow Creative, we find this to be unfair. Sure, professional video producers have a lot invested in their equipment and their time is valuable. But we have found a way to scale all of this for small business and invite you to take advantage of it.
Harbor Sailboats Promo from RightNow Communications on Vimeo.
Here is an example of a 2 minute promotional video for one of our local clients, Harbor Sailboats, in San Diego, who offer a local sailing club, ASA sailing lessons and more. It is a family run business that has been around for over 40 years! What they offer is totally experiential and video content is able to convey the feelings their potential clients have for what it is they offer.
Some videos need to explain and show intricate details and elaborate plans. But most promotional videos need to convey a feeling and emotion one might get from trying something new instead of directions on how to do it. In the case of Harbor Sailboats, many San Diegans would love to get on the water and acquire the skills necessary to enjoy the sport of sailing. For many people, it seems out of reach and expensive; something you might dream about but never get to actually do.
As a marketing consultancy for this business, we need to get the message out that Harbor Sailboats offers the highest quality around at an affordable price available to anyone who has the desire. This video example here is our first project of this type for the company. We spent two sessions capturing a variety of footage for them. The result is this long-form music style video. From here, we can break these up into individual vignettes and use with additional lifestyle footage we plan to get as their season unfolds. We are building them a new website and much of this footage will be used on it as well. Web sites need more than traditional static images these days. People expect to see moving images, especially at a sailing website!
